Our Board Needs You!

The following are the positions that are opening up for the 2024-2025 school year. Below is a brief description of those positions. If you are interested in any position on the board or a committee chair, please contact our PTSA Parliamentarian, Michelle Brent Neyer at: michlbrent@aol.com 

Treasurer 

Works with a committee to plan & organize fundraising activities, focus on raising amounts needed to meet the unit’s budget, present reports on proposed fundraising activities. 

Financial Reviewer

Works with a committee to plan & organize fundraising activities, focus on raising amounts needed to meet the unit’s budget, present reports on proposed fundraising activities. 

VP Ways and Means

Works with a committee to plan and organize fundraising activities. Such events as monthly restaurant nights, family portrait sessions etc. Funds raised go directly to the PTSA to support Colina in a variety of ways.

Family Engagement Committee Chairperson

Chairperson works with a committee to plan and organize guest speakers at or around our General Association PTSA meetings. Works with a committee to plan and organize programs for the school year.

Communications Committee Chairperson

Maintains PTSA website, calendar of events, electronic communications, social media, and local media contacts. 

Reflections Chairperson

Oversee the committee’s planning and implementation of the program at your school.  Promote the Reflections and program to local students, teachers, parents, and the community as a whole thru flyers and weekly online newsletters.  Establish a program timeline; when do you plan on passing out the flyers to students, when will the art work deadline for submittal be due among other dates.  Recruit other committee members, Reflections judges, and volunteers as needed.  Distribute and answer questions about the rules, deadlines, and student entry forms.  Collect student entries and verify they meet all eligibility requirements.  Coordinate the local judging process.  Host recognition activities for participants and winners.  Return entries to students.  Evaluate the process at the end of the year and make recommendations for improvements.

Volunteer Committee Chairperson

Works with the PTSA president, school officials, chairpersons to coordinate volunteer assignments at the school to support During the school year, compiles lists of needed volunteers for various school events such as: Halloween Carnival, School Running Events, Luau, and various opportunities for donation specific items. Once list is confirmed with the specific event chairperson send the volunteer request out by school letter and opt-in volunteer list.

Hospitality Committee Chairperson

Organize and set-up refreshments, food, decorations, for a variety of events. Works within a budget set by the executive board. Supplies the volunteer chairperson list of donation items needed for specific events.
