Cougar Connection October

We are well into our first trimester now and have had a number of successful events.

Our first PTSA meeting speaker was from student services at CVUSD – she gave an overview of what services are available for students and parents in our local community. More information can be found at: https://www.conejousd.org/Departments/Student-Services/Student-Support-Services.

The adults Brooks Gibbs assembly focused on how as parents, we can raise emotionally strong kids, and for the students, how kids can become more resilient and help themselves through tough situations https://brooks-gibbs.mykajabi.com.

Last week was the inaugural #ParentslovePE – an open invitation for all parents to join in with their student’s PE class. It was a great workout and a fun insight into our student’s school day. Thanks to the all the teachers and staff for making this happen – it was brilliant to join in and we are looking forward to the next opportunity! Maybe I will stop aching before then?

If you missed out on these, don’t worry, there are more opportunities for getting involved coming up, especially with the Colina Carnival and Haunted House. Please read on, keep an eye on our website, this newsletter and the weekly email from Mr Frank for upcoming events.

If you are having trouble accessing any of these, please let us know at ColinaPTSA@gmail.com. Additionally, if you know of anyone who is missing out on this information, please direct them to our webpage www.colinaptsa.comwhere they can subscribe to the Cougar Connection newsletter and join the PTSA!

Big thanks to our wonderful volunteers, plus more opportunities to help!

We couldn’t run our PTSA without you volunteers, so a huge Thank You to all of you who have signed up as Hearing & Vision test volunteers as well as those helping out at the Annual Colina Carnival volunteers & bakers. There are still volunteers needed, so please sign up using the following links:

SCHOOL CENTS AND E-RECYCLING

Please participate in our School Cents initiative – an easy and pleasant way for raising money for our school!

The School Cents Program allows you to give money back to the school by submitting/ uploading all your receipts from The Oaks Mall. Receipts from restaurants and the food court can be uploaded too! Go to:  shopandlog.com/theoaks to "Submit Receipts". Just answer the questions and upload the receipt(s) (one picture for each receipt).

You can also drop off receipts in the office and they will be uploaded for you. Look for drop off box in the office.

E-waste recycling at The Oaks. Fill out a School Cents Form and make sure to put Colina at the bottom in order for the school to get credit. The forms will be available at the E-waste recycling area. To find out what can be accepted as E- waste go to: cewsb2b.com

Any questions please email coppo11@hotmail.com

Any general PTSA questions can be asked of your board, and our president, Michelle Garcia will be happy to help (colinaptsa@gmail.com).
